3.8. Internal ethylene concentration (IEC)
IEC was undetectable in the fruit harvested at CM (189 DAFB)
in 2003 from Perth Hills. Two weeks later (203 DAFB), IEC was as
low as 0.3 L L−1, and later significantly increased to 2.7 L L−1 at
217 DAFB (Fig. 9A). In 2004, the IEC significantly increased from an
initial 0.1 L L−1 at CM to 8.2 L L−1 at 231 DAFB (Fig. 9A). In 2003
and 2004, the IEC in the fruit was very low (0.2 L L−1) at CM at
Donnybrook (Fig. 9B). IEC increased with harvest delay (4–6 weeks
after CM) in both years at Perth Hills and Donnybrook.
