The control of bleeding in lacerated fingers can be challenging. Overzealous treatment should be avoided. A 67-year-old man presented to the accident and emergency department with amputation of the right little fingertip. His medications included aspirin, and the bleeding in the fingertip was reportedly difficult to stem. An iodine-based dressing was applied to the wound, and a tight crepe pressure dressing was wrapped around the whole hand to achieve hemostasis of the bleeding digit. On review of the wound the following day, blistering between all digits was observed (Figure).
