Millennium Development Goals
The eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were born from the actions and targets contained in the Millennium Declaration adopted by 189 nations and signed by 147 heads
of state and governments during the UN Millennium Summit in September 2000. The MDGs set a target date of 2015, by which all countries and leading development institutions agree to fight a range of the world’s main development challenges, such as poverty, hunger and HIV/AIDS. These goals serve as a blueprint for making the world a better place. Working toward them offers faith and hope, and even more reasons to believe in a better world. We are proud to contribute to the realization of the MDGs through our efforts.
