Central Park is a really beautiful place right in the middle of New York City. I love the park because with just a short walk, you can get away from all the noise and craziness of the city and just enjoy nature. One day I arranged to meet my friend in the park after I had a business meeting nearby. I was wearing nice shoes because of the meeting. They looked nice, but they were terrible to walk in. We walked along the trails for a while, but then I said I had to sit and rest my feet. I took my shoes off and set them beside the bench. My friend and I got very involved in our conversation. When I finally looked for my shoes, they were gone! My friend went out to a street cart and bought me some cheap shoes so I could get home. I took the subway a few miles back to my neighborhood. When I came out of the subway near my apartment, I passed a little stand on the street. They had my shoes for sale! That's the kind of city New York is—you can walk through a beautiful park, lose your shoes, and discover your shoes have made it home before you.
