According to the annual sleep poll released by the National Sleep Foundation (NSF), only 30% of adults are getting the recommended eight hours of sleep each night. It is but no wonder that there is such an enormous amount of research going on in the area of sleep throughout the world. Surveys conducted by the National Sleep Foundation reveal that 60 percent of adults report having sleep problems a few nights a week or more. In addition, more than 40 percent of adults experience daytime sleepiness severe enough to interfere with their daily activities at least a few days each month - with 20 percent reporting problem of sleepiness a few days a week or more. There is no single number presently that would indicate the level of sleep quality.
