The prevalence of this pathology is increasing with age and the increase seems to be higher among women. Within the age span of 65 69 years 0.7 of the female population has the dis ease, compared to 23,6% of the women that had aged beyond 90 years. The corresponding figures for males are 0.6(65-69 years) and 17.6 for those who passed 90 years of age.
