A total of 173 persons met the study’s inclusion criteria. Of these, 158 agreed to participate, signed the consent form, and were randomly assigned to either the control group or the intervention group by using a random number table (with 81
participants in the intervention group and 77 participants in the control group) (Fig. 1). Of the 81 participants in the intervention group, nine withdrew for specified reasons; therefore, the final number in the intervention group at Time 1,Time 2, and Time 3 was 72. Of the 77 participants in the control group, four did not complete the study for various reasons; thus, the final number in the control group was 73. The characteristics of those who dropped out were similar to those who participated in the study (Fig. 1).
