EGF
is a protein belonging to the EGF family, which consists of
at least eight members (Riese and Stern 1998), and is
considered a mitogenic factor, being involved in the
regulation of several ovarian processes (Silva et al. 2006),
including proliferation and cellular differentiation, in
addition to steroidogenesis (Saha et al. 2000; Wang et al.
2007).
