Previously we have reported the synthesis of mesoporous polymer COP-M via FeCl3 mediated polymerization between1,3,5-tris (bromomethyl) mesitylene and 4,4′-bis (bromomethyl) biphenyl. High surface area (SBET 1400 m2 g1) and good thermal sta-bility (ca. 380 °C for 5% weight lost) of COP-M have inspired us to utilize it as a precursor for the carbonization at high temperature.
