The simulator models a realistic cellular
environment of GSWGPRS system with accurate
models of traflic channels (TCH and PDTCH),
propagation and traffic distribution, and with less
detailed modeling of higher protocol layers (see Error!
Reference source not found. for more details). In
general, only downlink traffic is modeled. In each
TRX' the TSO can be reserved for signaling purposes
and TS1 ... TS7 are available for traftic channels.
Power control and link adaptation are optional. All
coding schemes from CS1 to CS4 are available, but
only CS1 and CS2 are used in the simulations. TBF2
establishment, release, blocking and dropping are
modeled reaIistically. RLC/MAC protocol is modeled
according to GPRS specification. Certain realistic
implementation delays for example in Packet Contrbl
Unit (PCU) is also taken into account.
