Sufficient time was given to them to read the passages and answer the corresponding RCQs. In the experimental group, before giving the same reading passages, the respondents were immersed with the lesson on outlining. They were taught the basic of it through detailed instruction, teacher modeling and examples, teacher and peer evaluation techniques and group and peer discussion and activities. After the inputs made by the researcher, on the second day, they read the reading passages and asked to make an outline in each passage to better understand the ideas presented. They answered the RCQs after reading and making outlines.
