Conclusion
Base on the research results, it can be concluded that oil palm agribusiness both in dry and wet land
operated in the form smallholder plantations have become profitable businesses that contribute positively to
the farm household incomes in South Sumatra. Peformance comparison of two typologies of land for planting
oil palm in the region revealed that there are significant differences in productivity and income gained by the
farmers at both areas, indicating that the wet land palm oil plantation was more prospective based on current
performance of the younger age trees in the majority of oil palm plantations. This performance is predicted to
