Below is a message from Paula Brown Stafford which you may have received last night announcing the leadership teams for each of the five new “Core Clinical” groups recently formed as part of our Clinical Redesign efforts. The purpose of this message is to amplify on Paula’s comments to give you greater context about what this means for Asia-Pacific.
First, this is great news. We’re redesigning so we can continue to grow and remain the industry leader. Ross Horsburgh, Head of Clinical Development Asia-Pacific, is working closely with our global clinical colleagues to optimize our Asia-Pacific structure in light of these changes. Our goal is to enable a streamlined, high-quality project delivery experience for our employees and customers.
Each of the five groups Paula references – Therapeutic Science and Strategy, Project Leadership, Patient and Site Networks, Site Management, and Knowledge Management – will have Asia-Pacific representatives on their leadership teams. This will be a tremendous advantage as we integrate Asia-Pacific with our global systems and processes to create a highly efficient, data-driven clinical development engine that none of our competitors can match.
I’d like to congratulate the first two Asia-Pacific leaders announced in Paula’s message – Lai-Lee Tan and Meg Hooton – both members of Kort Schickfus' Project Leadership Group.
I’m very pleased that Lai-Lee is moving to a global leadership position as head of the new Global Project Management Center of Excellence (COE). This is a key component of our efforts to significantly improve clinical development productivity, quality and delivery worldwide.
Lai-Lee’s vast experience at Quintiles, and her knowledge of Asia-Pacific, make her the ideal person to lead this global effort to standardize and further develop best practices globally. We should all be proud of this latest example of a colleague from Asia-Pacific making a big impact on the global stage, and a further recognition of how our region is helping shape Quintiles globally!
Meg, having taken over from Lai-Lee in leading TDU Asia-Pacific, will be the Project Leadership Head Asia for Kort’s group. Meg’s done a great job in leading the ops team in her various roles across the region; her voice in the Project Leadership Group will be especially important as Asia-Pacific continues to grow and deliver innovation for Quintiles’ globally.
We’ll be making further announcements in the near future regarding Asia-Pacific representation on the global Core Clinical groups’ leadership teams, and providing more context about what this means for Quintiles’ globally and especially for us here in Asia Pacific.
As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions or comments.
