Examples include jobs that involve work:
• On electrical equipment or systems ≥1kV (energised or de-energised);
• On-or-near exposed energised conductors > 50VAC or 120VDC;
• On energy storage equipment where hazardous stored energy may be present (eg power factor correction capacitors and UPS battery systems);
• On electrical systems in areas where explosive atmospheres could occur.
“Electrical work” includes installation, repair, modification and diagnostics of electrical systems. It does not include operation of electrically powered equipment, ie starting and stopping machinery.
