In this study, DHSA was produced in a 500-kg-per-batch operation
pilot plant, according to the patented procedure (Ahmad et al.,
2009). The waxy crude DHSA was then purified to remove dermal
irritants, such as octanoic and decanoic acids. This study aims to
investigate the effects of temperature and solvent concentration
on weight-based crystal yield, particle size distribution, and purity
and process efficiency in the crystallization of DHSA with isopropyl
alcohol (IPA) as the solvent.
