3.3 Network Location In the case of the single route between two main the solution to the centres, location problem is basically trivial, subject to the empirical complications discussed in extend the network to three or Section 3.2. However, once we more centres, then route location rapidly becomes more complex. and we have a set of separate network location problems. Two main classes are examined here: (a) 'floating point: problems, where junctions in the network are allowed to occur at any location in the plane and (b) fixed point problems, where junctions are confined a finite set of locations (e.g. cities) .
