Our target variable, claim frequency, is defined as the number of claims made by a policyholder in the policy
year, and it ranges from 0 to 5. One interesting feature is that there are a very high proportion of non-claimers in the
data. During the policy year, 60.7% of policyholders made no claims, 12.5% of policyholder made one claim and
14.5% of policyholders made two claims; also 12.3% of the policyholders made more than two claims. The average
claim frequency rate is estimated to be 0.82.
