A smaller study with the AAB-type Lady Finger bananas sourced from one growing district on one occasion showed a similar relationship. Log 10 green life increased with decreasing temperature(P < 0.001), decreasing log 10 ethylene concentration (P < 0.001) and its square (P < 0.047). A significant interaction between temperature and log 10 ethylene concentration was also observed (P = 0.006)(Table 2). The following regression model accounted for 86% of the variance in log 10 green life for Lady Finger bananas:
