We will call you on Monday. Bannarak already communicated with you about the fiber cut that affected CAT. For the failover we don’t know what happened but we can help you review it. When we implemented the failover it was tested with STEC IT present and was working at the time.
Did you test the 3BB link separately when this issue happened? Was the 3BB link working? Was the 3BB link also affected by the fiber cut?
Please note that we implemented the failover for ‘free’ as part of the network cleanup we had to perform in order to migrate all of STEC to a cloud based email solution. The network was in terrible condition and many users did not have access to the Internet to use cloud based email. In order to perform the email migration we had to remove the legacy Barracuda and Mono firewalls from the network, re-route all user traffic through the Fortigate and we also implemented failover with the consumer 3BB network connection. None of these network modifications were in-scope for the email migration but we did the work to support the email migration because of the serious issues with Exchange at the time.
