Malaysia Airlines Plane Shot Down
A Malaysia Airlines passenger plane crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17 killing all 298 people on board. The flight had departed from Amsterdam and was on its way to Kuala Lumpur when it was shot out of the air by what is believed to be a surface-to-air missile. Malaysian Airlines Flight 17 crashed near the Ukrainian-Russian border that is currently controlled by pro-Russian separatists. This is the second catastrophe involving Malaysia Airlines in the past few months. Malaysia Airlines flight 370 went missing on March 8 and has not been found.
