Taxonomy of knowledge management in open innovation consists of four parts. Firstly there is the higher level
depiction of the phenomenon (see Figure 1) that shows the relation between open innovations and different
knowledge management processes. Secondly there is a separate mapping for each of the three processes: acquiring
knowledge (see Figure 2.), using knowledge, and sharing knowledge. This way it is possible to easily understand the
big picture and at the same time go deep enough with the details so that the taxonomy is useful.
