At an applied electric field of 32 V the measured strain was 10 % forSR5 and was, with 4% and 1.8% drastically reduced for SD5 and SVF5, respectivelty. Enhancing the cross links in the from 5 to 10% yields a significant rise of about 40% for the Young’s modulus, while the dielectric constant remains almost un-changed. Increasing of the hardener concentration up to 40% results in only a small additional rise of the elastic properties, as the amount of active groups in the main chain of the silicone elastomer is limited and, therefore, the elasticity cannot change significantly beyond a certain hardener concentration. As the Young’s modulus changes moderately with higher hardener concentrations (10 to 40%, see Fig. 4b) for the silicone, the resulting sterins are comparable.
