It seemed like an eternity, waiting for Red to wake up on his hospital bed, but in reality, it was nearly two days ago. I let out a sigh full of sadness and distress before laying my eyes on Red.
Before this all happened, Red's face was very light but still radiant. His cheeks were plump but striking. Most importantly, his gorgeous red eyes showed compassion. A lot of people were against his red eyes, saying that they were weird, different, and that they made him looking like a monster.
But to me, it made me look at him as a great friend, someone who loved Pokèmon with all his heart. It was simply fabulous to his amazing personality and looks.
'Friend? Come on, (Name). You know you love me more than a friend! You know you love him more than anything else in the world! More than Pokèmon!
I shook my head to get rid of that thought. I couldn't possible love him more than a friend! I'm so plain, nothing special! Nothing more....than a friend in his eyes.
The heart monitor beeped at its normal pace but was loud enough to snap me out of my thoughts. The breathing mask around Red's pale mouth was keeping him alive.
It's all my fault that he's like this. That he was so pale, that he hardly shows any signs of life on the hospital bed, and that he was so cold with his eyes shut.
It's all my fault...

3 days ago.~
Gathering supplies for Red on the mountain was hard work, but he needed all the help he could get. There are still things that grow here that he can eat, there's wood for fire, and with the help of his friends, he has plently of warm clothes to wear.
He often does tell us not to waste our precious resources on him but we do it anyway because we love him.
"Let's see...All I need to gather now is some firewood. Hmm..."
Firewood was the hardest to get. Red knew where the trees were but he's in the middle of a battle right now. I couldn't interrupt him.
"Oh, Red...."
'No, bad (Name)! You can't daydream about Red now! Now is not the time! I need to search for his fire-'
A loud screech erupted from a nearby cave. Out came one of Kanto's legendary Pokèmon, Articuno! Although mostly gentle, it can get wild when its home is disturbed.
I tried to hide but Articuno came closer and closer, preparing to attack. I whimpered, only hoping that it wouldn't noticed me. Like all my luck, it washed away as Articuno's keen eyes caught me with a Mean Look.
I panicked and let out a shriek. I began to run away, as swiftly as I could but Articuno catched up quickly with its agility and wings. I let out another scream as it stood in front of me, charging up an attack.
"(Name)!!"
"Red!?"
Articuno's Ice Beam shot out of its mouth, making me its target. I couldn't do anything. I became paralyzed with fear. I saw a shadow quickly go in front of me, blocking its attack with his body.
"Red!!!"
Articuno let out a cry before flying away. Red's mouth moved slightly, "(N-Name)..", before freezing up. Tears spilled out of my eyes as his frozen body landed in my arms.
As quickly as I could, I called out to Charizard who appeared in a flash. He quickly flew me to the nearest hospital there was...
~~~
My eyes teared up once again, just as they always did when I remember that event. I clutched Red's hand into my hand, feeling its coldness against my warmth.
"Red, please wake up..." I choked out.
The hospital doors opened and the doctor, along with the nurse, went inside. They checked Red's conditions before telling me,
"I'm very sorry to tell you this, but we don't know the stable conditions of Mr.Red. We don't know when he'll wake up. We also cannot allow vistors that have no family connections to him to stay overnight at the hospital so you have to leave for the night."
The news shattered my already fragile heart. What hurt me more was that I can't stay by Red's side.
"B-But....I have to stay!" I cried out.
"No vistors with no family resemblance ca-" He repeated.
"I'm his fiancèe!"
It was a lie but I held up my left hand, which the promise ring that Red gave me before he went to the mountains was on. Right on the ring finger.
The doctor let out a sigh, finally agreeing to the terms since Red and I are 'engaged', before leaving.
Our hands were still intertwined. I didn't want to leave him for one moment. I continue to stare at him until I got an idea.
"Hey, Red....I'm going to sing a song for you. I know how much you loved it when I did that every time I visited you. I wrote this special song for you a while ago so I though you could hear it..."
I cleared my throat, gathered a big breath and began.
Sleep soundly safe in his heart
You no longer have to face the evil in the dark
Just rest your mind, and leave your pain behind
Remember softly, of a time when the world was so bright
You've fought so bravely, my dear
And so you can rest, for now there's nothing left to fear
Fighting onward, you dreamed unreachable things
But now your dreams carry you to a place where these things come true
I'll hold your hand while you sleep
So don't be afraid, I won't let shadows touch your dreams
Maybe in time, we'll leave this all behind
We'll look up skyward, and the stars, they will shine in your eyes
Promise, you'll wake up in time
When you awaken I will be there by your side
There's a person, he'll fix the broken mistakes
I'll find him and journey on, I will save you, whatever it takes...
Drowsiness nearly took over. My head began to rest on my right arm while my left arm allowed my left hand to intertwine with his own. I closed my eyes and drifted off...
~Red's pov~
....... Promise, you'll wake up in time
When you awaken I will be there by your side
There's a person, he'll fix the broken mistakes
I'll find him and journey on, I will save you, whatever it takes...
I could hear (Name)'s angelic voice. My ears were slowly perking up and my eye lids began to open as I saw her falling asleep.
"(N-Name)...." I whispered out.
Her gentle snores were all I could hear. My eye drifted upon my sleep angel, causing a smile to appear on my face. I moved the hair out of her face gently and carefully, so I couldn't wake her up.
What surprised me the most was that on (Name)'s left hand's ring finger was the promise ring I gave her before I left to the mountains nearly 4 years ago. My heart beated joyfully.
(Name)'s hand clutched on my own as she mumbled out,
"I love you, Red...."
I chuckled slightly.
"I love you, too, (Name)..."
I laid down again on my hospital bed and fell back asleep.
The next time I wake up....I hope that the first thing I see is (Name)'s beautiful face....
