Fruits and leaves of H. rhamnoides were collected from northern
India in the month of September and authenticated by
Professor N.K. Dubey, Botanist, Dept. of Botany, Banaras
Hindu University, Varanasi. The voucher specimen (HR:
0706, SH 18) is retained in the department for future reference.
The fruits and leaves were shade dried and the dried material
was milled to obtain coarse powder and then cold extracted
using hydroalcohol in the ratio of 70:30 (ethanol:water). The
extract was dried in a rotary evaporator under reduced pressure.
