Golf Coaches Comments: - This week we looked at the physical screens that were undertaken during the opening assessments. From this the areas of possible improvements were highlighted and we began the process of making those improvements.
For Sutthinun we worked on helping improve his pelvic control, this was done with corrective exercises for pelvic tilt.
The ability to move and control the position of the pelvis is critical for optimal power transfer from the ground to the upper body, arms and then club during the swing. It will also help stand in a ‘neutral’ posture which will reduce the risk of injury and lower back pain.
To help understand Sutthinun’s game we introduced a statistical game for on the golf course based around the concept of ‘strokes gained’. The game helps highlight on course strengths and weaknesses as well as helping with strategy on course. This comes from the focus of the game being on keeping the ball in position to produce the best score.
The strokes gained concept also helps the player keep their focus on the shot they are playing.
