• Concerning “caregiving,” it is defined by the scientific literature as the activities aimed at psychologically and materially helping relatives/friends who are incapable of tending to their own needs. We distinguish between “informal” caregiver (primary caregiver) and “formal” caregivers (health‐care practitioners). Furthermore, the literature widely underscores the problematic effects of caregiving such as the development of more or less serious psycho‐social diseases (Semple, 1992;Schulz et al., 1995).
