I hope everyone had a relaxing holiday! The kids seemed pleased to be back, and haven’t forgotten ALL the rules!
We are off to a quick start to our new unit! With only 10 weeks until summer holidays (omg!) we have a lot to cover. We’ve just started our new Unit of Inquiry, which is all about communication, and communicating ideas and feelings. There will be a huge focus on tolerance and kindness this unit. Ms. Nele and I are very excited about it.
Here are a few bits of information for this week:
Swimming- we are not sure which day will be swimming day this term. PE has asked the kids to please bring BOTH swim kit AND PE kit TOMORROW (Tuesday). I will find out for sure which day will be swim day. They’re still fiddling around with the schedule, and seeing if the pool is ready after lots of construction over the holidays. I’ll update you asap.
Glint of Gold Theatrical Performance- the Radical Theatricals group has been hard at work all Term 2 to prepare for an amazing Egyptian-themed performance culminating next week. Of course, due to our previous Unit of Inquiry, Year 3 has a part in it! We will be singing a great song about the steps of the pyramid/Egyptian society. It’s a catchy tune and we’ve been practicing for a few weeks. We’ll be sending home words this week for some last minute practice, and we have a few sessions with director Mr. Matt to fine tune our moves! You’ll be getting an email shortly about the performance, but it is presently scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, April 28th.
Term 3 Activities- start Monday, April 27th!
New Students- we are pleased to welcome Joe and Atom to our class this week! They had a great day today, and already seem to be fitting in, thanks to the caring, open-minded and empathetic students we have in Year 3!
Spelling this week – we gave new spelling words today, so we will have our spelling test this Thursday. Check our website for updated word lists if your child’s list has gone missing already! http://msgwsclass.weebly.com/
Please let me know if you have any questions!
