1.A Blessing In Disguise:
Something good that isn't recognized at first.
Example: Getting fired could be a blessing in disguise if you hate your job.
2.A Chip On Your Shoulder
Being upset for something that happened in the past.
Example: Tom has a chip on his shoulder about soccer because he once lost the game for the team.
3.A Dime A Dozen:
Anything that is common and easy to get.
Example: Girls like her are a dime a dozen" (There are lots of girls like her)
4.Cross Your Fingers:
To hope that something happens the way you want it to.
Example: I don't know what I will get for my birthday, but I am crossing my fingers that it will be a bicycle."
5.Cry Over Spilt Milk:
When you complain about a loss from the past.
Example: Oh, stop crying over spilled milk. You have other toys to play with.
6.Drink like a fish:
To drink very heavily.
Example: It’s my birthday! I’m going to drink like a fish!
7.Head Over Heels:
Very excited and/or joyful, especially when in love.
Example: Within five minutes I was head over heels in love with her.
8.Hit The Sack:
Go to bed or go to sleep.
Example: I don’t know why I’m so tired today, I hit the sack early last night!
9.REDUCE TO TEARS
It means getting into tears because of some one's behaviour.
Example: Greta reduced to tears when her boyfriend stopped seeing her.
