panes are either opened or fixed and are tinted to reduce the amount of solar radiation that enters the building. The office areas feature double glazed outer panels with low-E coating and an internal screen of laminated glass to maximize daylight penetration but still allow views. Perforated blinds are also used to prevent any solar gains and to reduce glare that occurs. These blinds also intercept most of the radiation which in turn reduces the need for excessive cooling. The double skin facade is ventilated by low level inlets and mechanical exhaust from the top of the facade using fans to send warm air to the shafts when required or directly to the exterior via a changeover system.
