The proportion of respondents to indoor dampness and
visible mould growth due to water damage after flooding are
presented in Figs. 6 and 7, respectively. Indoor dampness and
visible mould growth in the flood-damaged homes increased in comparison with those in no flooded homes located at the same
area. In the indoor dampness, the percentage of respondents
reporting very damp and moderate damp at one week of flooding
was approximately 80%. Indoor dampness gradually reduced after
one week, but persisted for six month. On the other hand, the
percentage of respondents reporting visible mould growth
gradually increased after one week of flooding. At six month after
flooding, 60% of respondents reported very much and much
mould growth in indoor. The results indicate that there is a time
lag in environmental risk factors related to indoor dampness
after flooding.
