The importance of Asarnha Bucha Day
Asarnha Bucha Day is one of Buddhism’s most important festivals, celebrating the Buddha’s first sermon after his enlightenment. Therefore Asarnha Bucha Day is considered as the first day of Buddhism Declaration to the world. From His enlightenment, the Buddha has fulfilled his task of turning into the founder of Buddhism which is different from other normal savant since the Buddha can teach his Dharma to others. This day is also known as Dharma Day.
Moreover, on this day it is the day that one of the five participants recounted his understanding of what had been said and asked to be received as a disciple, a request the Buddha granted, thus establishing the first order of monks. Therefore, we called this day the “Monk Day” too.
Therefore, Asarnha Bucha day was held to recall the important events that happened on this day which are;
