Experimental procedure of determining the higher heating values
of any fuels in laboratory is time consuming and expensive.
The derivation of various correlations helps to ease such difficulties.
Therefore, a new approach for developing correlations by
using the ratios of non-volatile, volatile, and non-organic constituents
of proximate analysis from biomass materials is presented.
New correlations have been developed by the principle of minimizing
sum square error using 250 data. This study proposes the following
linear and non-linear correlations for estimating HHVs of
biomass:
