Approximately 10 g of ground sunflower seeds were placed in a
thimble, which was inserted into a Soxhlet apparatus and
extracted with 200 mL of hexane (M/S = 1/20 g/mL). The extraction
was performed at normal boiling point for 4 h and afterwards the
solvent was evaporated until dryness. Obtained oil was stored at
20 C until further use.
