Amzed smiles were the reaction to the medical assistant robot walking around the Panasonic booth at medical fair Asia 2011 the event was held at Queen Sirikit National convention center from September 14 to 16 Named “Hospi”the green-and-white robot is part of an integrated medication delivery system it helps nurses to deliver medication safely and accurately the multiple sensors inside the robot help is navigate the lengthy hallways of a hospital and enable Hospi to avoid bumping into patients and to get into and out of lifts Panasonic spokesman gary Tan said that Hospi can pick up medication including fragile vials arrange them on trays and deliver them within a hospital all independently the Hospi robot is already in full use at matsushita hospital in Japan and also serves hospital in Singapore the company plans to introduce Hospi to local hospitals soon the character of Hospi is standard gloloally but Panasonic customizes the robots for each individnal hospital
