Housekeeping
Good housekeeping is the key to accident prevention in industrial safety; therefore, all employees and subcontractors
shall observe the following rules:
• Gangways and demarcated lines in the working area shall be kept clear,
• Hidden hazards like chipping and similar waste materials left under the machine an in the corners
must be cleaned up,
• All combustible waste shall be deposited into the provided bin/drum,
• Clothing and rags shall not be hung on the electrical switches and lamps,
• Fire equipment and extinguishers shall not be obstructed,
• Cigarette butts shall be stamped out and thrown into ashtrays,
• All goods and materials shall be properly stacked,
• All damaged floor surfaces shall be reported for immediate repair,
• Toilets shall be maintained and kept clean,
• Store flammable materials in safe places, Storage facilities for flammable materials shall be set well
away from main building,
• Arrange wire, ropes, chains, cables and hoses in such a manner as to avoid tripping hazards,
• Spills shall be cleaned up immediately and the materials used to absorb the spills cleared away in a
safe manner.
