Asean+3 are planning to establish an Asean Narcotics Cooperation Centre (Asean-Narco) based at the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) in Bangkok's Phya Thai district in order to tackle drug trafficking by sharing information, preventing and suppressing drug-related crimes in the region.
Presiding over the opening ceremony of the Asean+3 (China, Japan and South Korea) workshop Monday, ONCB secretary-general Permpong Chaovalit said the participating countries would discuss the cooperation, which includes the establishment of this centre. The workshop will wrap up Wednesday.
