On natural trails there’s usually lots of line choice, which makes things interesting. In general, straighter is often faster through technical sections and a late apex tends to be faster through corners. It’s important to remember that the best line isn’t the same for all riders – it depends on your skill level and speed. There’s no point trying to hit a straight line if you’re going to hook up on a load of roots and lose tons of speed. Focus on exit speed out of corners and technical sections. Anyone can haul into a corner and grab a handful of brake. Entering slowerm may mean that you can exit faster.
