Long story short...I needed to go down to Bangkok yesterday for another elder to go to a meeting. On our way back home from Bangkok, we took a train which took two hours. When we got off, it was really late and all public transportation was no longer running. Elder Proctor and I were miles away from our home. We started to walk home. We knew God would provide a way for us to get home in a safe and timely manner. We stopped at one point and offered a prayer in faith in the name of Jesus Christ that a way would be provided for us to get home safely and timely. We kept walking. I tried flagging down cars passing by, but nothing. Elder Proctor said he felt like we needed to just get to the first roundabout. When we got to the first roundabout, I waved down a pickup truck. The driver started to veer over to us. I felt impressed to smile, so I did, and he veered over to us. I asked him if he would drive us close to our home. He said he was about to make a U-turn to head back into town. He had just got done selling food and was ready to go home. I offered him a little cash, and he said okay. We hopped in the back of his pickup truck and sat on a cooler. We offered up a prayer of thanks. The man went miles out of his way to help us. God heard our prayer and softened his heart. I gave him a little money and told him, "God bless you." He turned around and waved goodbye, going back toward the center of town. This story may seem like a small thing, but to me it was a real mercy sent from heaven.
