During the one month dietetic intervention study neither side
effects, allergic reactions, gastrointestinal discomforts nor any other
manifestation were noticed in any of the patients. Reference values
were obtained before and after dietetic study for the parameters
relevant for liver (AST: 24.25 ± 8.32 vs. 27.10 ± 8.96 IU/L, p < 0.05;
ALT: 20.75 ± 14.5 vs.16.55 ± 5.34 IU/L, p < 0.05) and kidney function
(urea: 5.34 ± 1.6 vs. 4.81 ± 1.98 mmol/L, p < 0.05; creatinine:
77 ± 10.96 vs. 93.2 ± 15.03 mmol/L, p < 0.05). No significant change
was obtained for body mass index after the one month dietetic
intervention (BMI: 23.26 ± 1.07 vs. 23.36 ± 1.03 kg/m2, p < 0.05).
