of 71 kHz. Therefore, extending the bandwidth to higher
frequencies will be desirable.
In this article a current mode triangular wave generator
based on CCIIs is proposed to alleviate the limitation
encountered in the voltage mode generators. The proposed
circuit uses two positive CCIIs, one is operating in the nonlinear
mode while the other is working in the linear mode.
The circuit enjoys a wider bandwidth, and uses grounded
capacitors and grounded resistors. Also, it features an independent
control of its oscillation frequency from the signal
amplitude using grounded capacitors.
This paper is organized as follows; in the first part, a
description of the proposed circuit is presented with the
derived analytical formulas for the frequency of oscillation
and the amplitude. In the second part, PSPICE simulation of
the proposed circuit is carried out to verify circuit operation.
In the third part, experimental results are presented and
compared with the calculated results using the analytical
formulas, and the circuit is tested for the maximum
frequency it can reach before its output becomes distorted.
