According to the product thickness, either 6 (92...120 mm) or 5 (140 mm)
screws are used. The number of screws according to product thickness
is selected by the switch located next to the screw speed adjusting knobs
(1-8). When only 6 screws are in operation, screws 2 and 7 work as side
screws and screw drives 1 and 8 are not running. They serve for production
of 68 mm and 75 mm thick PRIMO products.
The switch Line Speed adjusts the rotating speed of the rollers and all
screws simultaneously, i.e. it adjusts the extrusion speed.
By adjusting the rotating speed of each screw (1...8) separately, the optimal
mutual speed of the screws is found.
Once the correct adjustments have been found, they should not be unnecessarily
touched, since the screw adjustments take time and need to
be done without hurry. The screw adjustments must be recorded to the
shift diary. Recording is extremely important for changing of screws.
Note! Wearing of screws affects the adjustments.
Adjustment of rollers
The speed of the rollers can be changed by the knobs:
- Line Speed
- The rollers speed changes - also the screw speed changes
- Rollers Speed
- Only the speed of rollers changes
The speed of rollers must be adjusted so that the product does not slide
on the base mold and the base mold does not tear the product.
6.5.3.2 Mechanical Adjustment
1. Adjustments of packing bar
The height and inclination of the packing bar can be adjusted by two (2)
levers located outside the extruder. This affects the packing of concrete.
2. Adjustments of vibrating plate
The vibrating force can be adjusted (see chapter 6.5.4.2 vibrating force
and rotating direction of vibrators).
3. Adjustments of side boards
The adjustable properties of the side boards are their mutual distance,
centering, and toeing-in. The vibrating force is adjusted in a similar way
as the force of the vibrating plate. The vibrating force of the side boards
has to be equal on both sides.
