strategies impact on student performance as well as the overall management of the
school.
The major finding of this study is that school-based management as a leadership
and administrative style and strategy favorably influences students’ achievement in some
schools but fails to achieve the desired results in others. The overall results on the
standardized tests were favorable, resulting in a strong bell curve with a skew on the
positive side. However, the most amazing outcome of this study is the enduring faith that
teachers and administrators have that school-based management can improve student
achievement. An overwhelming 90% agreed that school-based management is able to
improve student achievement, even when the test scores did not show positive results. It
is this foundation of faith that will enable teachers and administrators to substantially
extend the benefits of site-based management in the future.
