The
view that cruise operations in
Korea could be a pioneering
marine tourism activity rather
than a later phase or dependent
tourism development is given
currency by the very history of
cruising in Asia Paci fic
destinations. Many other areas
with multiple islands have a long
history of cruise tourism and a
more recent shorter history of
resort and day trip operations.
The Queensland coast in Australia and the South Pacific
islands are examples of this
phased or staged development of
marine tourism.
