where the amount of land in a cornesoybean rotation harvesting stover (CBþstover) was greater than the amount of
land in a continuous corn rotation harvesting stover
(CC þstover). Without the added benefit of tillage reduction,
farms are less likely to grow continuous corn when stover

. The case with no tillage reduction deviated most from the base case in terms of stover quantity, area
of land harvesting stover, and return to resources. Reducing
land preparation costs is just one example of how stover
harvest must be beneficial to the corn growing operation since
corn stover will necessarily be produced jointly with corn grain
