Results from one-way ANOVA analyses in Figure 3 show White and non-White student
perceptions regarding: Elder co-educators, interest in STEM, and self-identity as a scientist. Figure
3 suggests that non-White students showed a trend towards accepting traditional Elders as
appropriate post-secondary STEM co-educators more so than White students (p=.45). On the other
hand, White students showed a weak trend to be more interested in STEM fields than non-White
students (p=.80). Finally, non-White students showed a trend to self-identify as a scientist as
compared to White students (p=.31).
