The intercorrelation of the AB scale, and of its component sub-scales with each of the other scales administered in the experiment was next obtained by Pearson product-movement correlation. The resultant data, and tabulated separately by sex, are presented above in Table II. To test further the relationship of the Glass AB scale with the Neuroticism scale, subjects were classified as Type A if they fell above the mean score of 6.84 rounded off to 7 and as Type B if they fell below the mean. Six subjects falling around the mean were excluded from the analysis. It was found that the Type A group (n = 14) had a mean Neuroticism score of 12.57 with a S.D. of 5.91. The Type B group (n= 17) had a mean Neuroticism score of 7.41 with a S.D. of 2.81. A t-test revealed this difference to be highly significant (t = 3.09, p < 0.01 two-tailed test).
