photonsm2 s1 on day 6 and 7, when there was a significant effect
of the 40 C treatment on /PSII respectively compared to 638, 306
and 680 lmol photons m2 s1 on day 1, 2 and 4, respectively.
There was also a significant difference between species that
depended on treatment (treatment species p < 0.001 Table 1):
there was no significant difference between species in ambient
conditions, but in the 40 C treatment, H. ovalis had a significantly
(p < 0.001) lower /PSII than all other species (Fig. 4g).
In the 43 C experiment, there was a significant effect of the
temperature treatment on /PSII but it was dependant on the species
(treatment species p < 0.01 Table 2), however, post hoc analyses
indicated a reduction in /PSII for all species (Fig. 4i–l).
