Several infectious agents are considered to be causes of cancer in humans particularly hepatitis B and C viruses, Helicobacter pylori, Clonorchis sinensis, and Opisthorchis viverrini, the biological agents have been identified as group 1 carcinogens by the International Agency for Research on Cancer Monographs. Here we described the evident research association between Helicobacter spp. and biliary tract cancer particularly Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA); the major problem cancer in Thailand. The Helicobacter spp., such as H. pylori, H. bilis, H. hepaticus, and H. cholecystus, have been found biliary tract disease. It has been suggested that CCA is caused by infection with Helicobacter species. Therefore, treatment of Helicobacter species may reduce biliary tract disease including CCA.
