Lifelong learning in the third age is often referred to as learning in retirement or learning in later life. Adult lateracy with its connotation of lateral thinking process and horizontal and vertical 2D and multi-task 3D product, sits at the intersection of rapidly escalating new technology advances and the world pendulum swing towards an equally rapidly ageing population. Adult lateracy closely correlates with the needs, interests and aspirations of the men and women who are in, or entering the third age in a roller coaster, globalised society.
