2. Given the volume of data collected in some qualitative studies, the researchers may decide to present their findings in several articles. For example, I conducted a phenomenological study with a colleague on the lived experiences of people with mental illness. The findings emerged in one broad theme (interactions with treatment providers) with subthemes, but a smaller yet distinct second theme emerged (sense of self as a person with mental illness). As a result, we are writing the findings as two separate articles.
